Alessio Leonardi, President of the jury

One of the greatest designers, typographers and type designers of the century, Alessio Leonardi is internationally-renowned for his excellent work and highly-qualified lectures at a number of conferences. He is also the cultivated and elegant author of articles for specialised magazines, Italy's delegate at the ATypi, and the father of beautiful twins. There is nothing more to add to his brilliant biography, except that Leonardi is one of the founders and joint owners of the well-known and respected Berlin design studio Leonardi.Wollein, Visuelle Konzepte.

Imme Werner, Vice President of the jury

Imme Werner is not only the shooting-star of the international graphic design scene, but also Alessio Leonardi's lover and mother of the beautiful twins. She lives with A. Leonardi and works for the critically-renowned Berlin design studio Leonardi.Wollein, Visuelle Konzepte.

Priska Wollein, Honorary President of the jury

Together with Alessio Leonardi (President of the Jury, ed.), Priska Wollein is the founder of the legendary Berlin design studio Leonardi.Wollein, Visuelle Konzepte. An excellent pilot of single-engines, she is working to train the next generation of pilots. Her participation in the jury is necessary for political reasons and guarantees compliance with the women's quota.

Edgar Lissel,
Honorary Member of the jury and Security Advisor

Edgar Lissel has been a very good friend of Alessio Leonardi (President of the Jury, ed.) for a long time. As a photographer, he has often worked for the veritable pop-icons Leonardi.Wollein. His photo-graphs have contributed to their works, intensifying the radiance of this creative hothouse. As an artist, he officially supplies the Leonardi household with works realised in unusual and suspect ways. As a former Stasi employee, Edgar Lissel (code name "Zio Eddi") is more than able to guarantee the safety and secrecy of the competition.

Thomas Merz, Honorary Member of the jury

An even better friend of Alessio Leonardi (President of the Jury, ed.), Thomas Merz, otherwise known as "Marzolino", is a publisher, publicist, Post-Script expert, brilliant diver, and survivor of a ship wreck on the Red Sea. His indispensable character guarantees the psychological stability of the jury. His own stability is guaranteed by the Archetipetti*.

Matthias Fischer,
Member of the jury and Sponsor

For years the supplier of the mythical Berlin design studio Leonardi.Wollein, Visuelle Konzepte, Matthias Fischer is also the gracious sponsor of the competition. With his pre-press company "M8", he is a guru to the Berlin design scene, famous for outstanding service and his absolute knowledge in all questions technical. From scanning to film exposure to the production of printed material of any kind: one name, one guarantee.

Erik van Blokland, Well-Known Member of the jury

Erik van Blokland has been a friend of Alessio Leonardi and Just van Rossum since kindergarten. He grew up in the Netherlands and became more famous than the tulip itself. EvB is the most well-known member of the jury and was chosen for this reason; he will also be paid in return for using his name in this competition. As an internationally-renowned typographer and illustrator, he lends our competition a shimmer of credibility, even though he will not actively take part in the jury's decision.
